We are looking for a dedicated individual who wants to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, a strong attendance record, and a commitment to providing school-age children with safe, fun, quality programming to start and end their school day.

The Kids Club Field Coordinator, under the supervision of the Kids Club/ECE PreK Program Director, is responsible for overseeing Kids Club before and after school programming at assigned OPS elementary schools. This includes (but is not limited to) conducting daily site visits at assigned elementary schools, managing staff communication & scheduling, assisting at sites as needed, ensuring that sites are operating in accordance with State of Nebraska licensing regulations and Omaha Public School Foundation policy, managing daily operations of sites, and much more.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma required
  • Minimum of five years of experience working with school-aged children
  • Minimum of five years of experience in working in a community- based organization that provides programming that serves people of varied ages and backgrounds, to include three years of lead or supervisory experience.
  • Management experience

Job Type: Part Time (35 hours a week)

Projected Hours: 6:00a-9:00a & 3:00p-6:00p

Salary: Hourly, wage based on experience

Work location: Designated OPS Elementary Schools; Requires use of personal transportation daily

Essential Job Functions

  • Conducts daily visits at assigned OPS elementary schools, during before and after school care, to ensure the operations at each location are running smoothly and are maintaining compliance of State of Nebraska licensing regulations; assists at assigned elementary schools as needed.
  • Works with the Kids Club/ECE Program Director to supervise, direct, and evaluate assigned childcare staff; processes employee concerns and problems; counsels or disciplines as appropriate, up to and including recommendations for termination; completes employee performance appraisals; develops and oversees employee work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and control.
  • Consults and communicates with various stakeholders including but not limited to, Omaha Public Schools, administration and staff, the OPS Foundation staff and other organizations to assist in reviewing operations and activities, resolve problems, receive and give advice and direction, and/or recommendations; volunteers for and assist with Omaha Public Schools and Foundation sponsored community events; attends meetings and provides information, reports, documentation, etc. as requested.
  • Prioritizes and schedules work activities to meet objectives; ensures that employees have the proper resources needed to complete assigned work; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; consults with Kids Club/ECE Program Director to assist with complex/problem situations and provide technical expertise; provides regular progress and activity reports to the Kids Club/ECE Program Director.
